    For best results

    • Roll a test patch first, because a coarse finish is hard to sand back to smooth.
    • Rough texture hides small dings, but holes and cracks still need filling first.

    How to use

    1. Step 1Clean the wall and let it dry before you open the paint.
    2. Step 2Pour the aggregate into a gallon of paint and stir until no clumps remain.
    3. Step 3Roll the mix on with a standard or textured roller, working in small sections.
    4. Step 4Keep stirring between loads so the coarse grit stays mixed through the paint.

    About this product

Hiding dents and old patches under a rough finish

Some walls have more dents, rips and old repairs than you want to fix one by one. Homax Stone Roll-On Paint Additive takes a different route: you stir its coarse aggregate into a gallon of your paint and roll the mix on. The result is a rough, stone-like surface that breaks up the light and draws the eye away from small flaws.

It goes over drywall, wood paneling, cement block and even wallpaper, so a basement block wall and a dated paneled den can get the same treatment. Expect about 100 square feet from the gallon you mix. A standard roller works, and so does a textured one. If you only want a light grit, the finer Sand additive suits you better.

    Before you start

An aerosol texture can is under pressure and its propellant burns: keep it away from open flame and heat while you spray, air the room, and do not leave a can in a hot car or a sunny window. Sanding the patch first raises fine dust, so wear a dust mask and catch it on a drop cloth.
