    • More pressure throws bigger, wider blobs, so lower it when your wall has a tight pattern.
    • Use it on interior walls only, and practice on scrap before you touch the repair.
    • Open a window, run a fan, and follow the directions on the can as you work.

    How to use

    1. Step 1Set the tip and pressure, then test the spray on cardboard next to your wall.
    2. Step 2Spray the patch and its edges in even passes, copying the spacing of the old blobs.
    3. Step 3Let the spatter firm up, then skim it flat with a knockdown knife.
    4. Step 4After the texture dries, paint over it without a primer coat.

    About this product

When a knockdown patch is bigger than a small can

Patching knockdown is hard because the new blobs have to match the old ones in size and spacing. The Homax Pro Grade Knockdown Texture gives you two controls on one 25 oz can: you set the spray tip for the pattern and the pressure for how hard the material leaves the nozzle. That puts it closer to a hopper gun than a basic aerosol.

The water-based formula is tinted, so you can see fresh texture against white drywall, and it is low in odor for interior walls. It does not need a primer before paint. A grip handle sits on the can to spare your hand over a long session. You still flatten the spatter with a knife after spraying, just as with any knockdown.

    Before you start

An aerosol texture can is under pressure and its propellant burns: keep it away from open flame and heat while you spray, air the room, and do not leave a can in a hot car or a sunny window. Sanding the patch first raises fine dust, so wear a dust mask and catch it on a drop cloth.
